Help bringing Adjágas music to U.S. Audiences
Adjágas needs your help! We're traveling to the United States to promote and educate audiences on not just Sámi music and culture, but also Norwegian arts. With unexpected costs, the band needs your help to get across the country and give their best artistry and representation to American audiences. Will you help us?
With your help, we can visit large cities and Native communities to spread the art of yoiking and let people know who the Sámi people are and that our art, language and culture is still alive and breathing. Adjágas has this unique opportunity now to reach large audiences through the kind support of American independent bands who are introducing their fan bases to Norwegian and Sámi music by sharing the stage with us. Everything is booked and audiences are awaiting us.
We've received generous support from the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, DC and the Norwegian Consulate General's offices in San Francisco and New York, and through a grant from Sápmi Music, but we still need help in gas, lodging and promotional efforts (and food and water). We're prepared to sleep in our portable lavvu when a place to camp is available, but for those large cities like Los Angeles, Chicago and NYC, we'll need to find a place to lay our heads to rest. In addition, we're seeking to hire small film crews to help document our tour and will hopefully be used in an upcoming documentary aimed at national audiences across North American and Scandinavia, thus promoting our mission on an even larger scale. Your support can make this all happen.
